What do we need when we prep? It’s easy to know. We need food, water, clothing, cooking ware, fire, sleeping accommodations, medication and medical supplies, protection, knowledge to use what we have and critical thinking. We need what we always need. It may be less than what we are use to, but it’s still the same needs.
EVERYONE prepares to some degree. We buy life insurance, home owners’ insurance, fire insurance, flood insurance, automobile insurance, and enough groceries to get us from paycheck to paycheck at least. Become pregnant and we’ll prepare for that newborn. Want to go to college? We begin preparing years in advance to get the grades to be accepted. A bride will spend months preparing for her wedding.
Why has the media outlets dehumanized preppers? I think it’s nothing short of nefariousness. It’s blazingly apparent the main stream media is in bed with the socialists. And power over people is the reason for control over people’s thinking. “The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender” (Proverbs 22:7). Keep someone living paycheck to paycheck and you will rule over them. “An ungodly man digs up evil, and it is on his lips like a burning fire. A perverse man sows strife, and a whisperer separates the best of friends” (Proverbs 16:27-28). Slandering dehumanizes people and separates them from others. The National Socialist (NAZIs) did this to the Jews. And all socialist/communists do this to everyone who is prosperous and independent. The American media is doing this to everyone who wants a free and independent Republic. Has it occurred to you that even the slanderers prep. The socialist prep. Why? How else can one prepare for the future or bring about the destruction of another?
So, everyone prepares to some degree. It gives us some piece of mind, a little more independence, and time to react and adjust to stressful situations. Yet, there is no way to prepare for everything; it’s impossible. So, the most important way to prepare is to know God’s word, believe God’s promises, and to recognize the leading of God’s Spirit: “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God” (Romans 8:14).
“A prudent man foresees evil and hides himself, but the simple pass on and are punished” (Proverbs 22:3). Five of the ten virgins in Matthew chapter twenty-five didn’t prepare and it cost them everything! Noah prepared and, though he went through the flood, escaped the judgement of the flood.
We all prepare to some level. Wisdom looks to the future, foresees the consequences of actions, and prepares appropriately.
