The Perfect Storm

(ESV) “In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon, Daniel saw a dream and visions of his head as he lay in his bed. Then he wrote down the dream and told the sum of the matter. Daniel declared, “I saw in my vision by night, and behold, the four winds of heaven were stirring up the great sea” (Daniel 7:1–2).

The four winds of heaven were stirring up the great sea! That sounds like the perfect storm.

What are the four winds? Consider this: (ESV) “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 6:12).

Four spiritual winds:

  • Rulers
  • Authorities
  • Cosmic powers over this present darkness
  • And spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places

Let’s say the four winds are satanic spirits stirring up the world population.

Why is this important. Because we need to be ready for the hurricane that is coming. In fact, the dark clouds and leading rain of world chaos and destruction are already here.

God prepared Noah for the storm of his day, and God wants us to be prepared for the storm of our day. But just as Noah had to listen to God for instruction on how to prepare, we have to do the same thing.

Take up the armor that God has given us.

Study and believe the Bible.

Spend time in prayer.

Keep in the love of God. Don’t let bitterness and worry into your life. Resolve to obey God’s commandment.

What in the natural can you do to prepare?

The storm is upon us. The turmoil of nations has begun. Governments can’t seem to make wise decisions. The populous is polarized into reciprocal groups that cannot meet in the middle.

We don’t know how this will go. But we do know to be obedient and faithful to the Lord Jesus and our faith in Him. The things of this world are doomed to failure and will change and end. But the Kingdom of God is forever. We are apart of the everlasting kingdom that does not change, because God does not change. Rejoice in this!

Stay strong and prepared!
