Why We Need The Electoral Vote

The Electoral Vote:

“As Judicial Watch previously noted, Los Angeles County has over 10 million residents, more than the populations of 41 of the 50 United States. California is America’s largest state, with almost 40 million residents.” https://myjw.pr.judicialwatch.org/wta/link.php?AGENCY=jw&M=3070256&N=38369&L=14347&F=H

This is a great example why our founding fathers incorporated the electoral vote. Without the electoral vote, a presidential candidate would only need to swing a couple of big cities or counties and win an election. Most of nation would be left out of the process.

No form of government is perfect, and idealism leads only to tyranny (socialism is a great example of idealism). Our founding father’s understood this. That is why they chose the United States to be a Republic (not a democracy) with a electoral vote. Democracies across the globe often end with a few ruling over the many: a large tribe or group taking the majority of the votes and then persecuting other tribes or groups that may have been ancient enemies.

The electoral college is another stop gap measure to prohibit the abuse of power. The saying “power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely” is true. Human nature is given to selfish ambition, and without measures to limit power, tyranny will always be the end result. This is a good reason why private entities, corporations, and lobbyist are dangerous (for all forms of government). Deep pockets are tempting to reach in to. (I certainly do not have an answer to this issue. And this is a perfect example of why God gave us the new birth through Jesus: He needed to change human nature. In eternity He won’t tolerate sinful behavior.)

Anyway, this is why we need the Electoral Vote. The Electoral Vote is an important ingredient to the success of a free society — the United States of America.

Stay strong and prepared!
