Turn On Your T.V.

I ask the question, “Would you expect your television set to turn on without being connected to the electrical outlet?” Of course not.

But I say, “All the parts in your TV are good. Do you still expect it to work without being connected to electrical power?” Of course not.

So I say, “Yet so many expect to be right with God and go to Heaven when they die without being connected God.”

You may think, “I’m a good person. I do more good things than bad. I’ve never done any of the real bad things. Why wouldn’t God let me into Heaven?”

It takes the power of God to light up your life. The parts of your life may be like that TV — basically good and properly working — but without being connected to God, there is no power to light up your life. You’re in darkness and will be in the blackness of darkness forever until the light of the life of God comes into you.

Why can’t good works alone give you life? Like a TV set who’s parts are in good condition, it still takes power for it to work. For God to raise you out of darkness, it takes His power. No other power can do it. So the question is, “How do we connect to the power of God?”

God has made His power available through His grace. GRACE: God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense. God’s grace is like a power outlet. But we must somehow connect to God’ grace to access His power. How do we do that?

“For by grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9). “Through whom [Jesus Christ] also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand” (Romans 5:2).

We have access to the power of the grace of God by faith in what Jesus has done for us. I think many have never considered that God raised Jesus from the dead because Jesus believe God would. Jesus’ faith was the link to God that God used to release His resurrection power.

Faith in God’s word is the conductor to the power of God.

It’s when we believe “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:9-10) that we connect to the power of God for salvation.

What Jesus did for humanity is available for everyone, but we have to connect to the power of God for it to become alive in our lives. We connect to the power of God when we believe what He says and act on it. Jesus acted on the word of God, and God raised Him from the dead.

Ask Jesus to be your Lord and Savior and connect to the resurrection power of God. By doing so, God will take the black screen of your heart and give you the light of life.

Stay strong and prepared!
